Obata Art Weekend

Join Balanced Rock during Obata Art Weekend in Yosemite Valley, July 17–19, for a weekend celebrating art, nature, creativity, and community inspired by the legacy of Chiura Obata. You can find our booth at the Community Art Fair from 3:30pm–5:30pm at the Yosemite Valley Welcome Center, where we’ll be sharing ways to connect more deeply with Yosemite through wellness, creativity, and community programming.

Balanced Rock’s booth will feature information about our community yoga offerings, upcoming retreats and workshops, Yoga Jambalaya this November, and ways to stay connected through our newsletter and social media channels. We’ll also have merchandise available and opportunities to support our nonprofit mission through donations.

We’re especially excited to bring back our wildly popular “Postcards from the Heart” activity from last year’s event! Stop by the booth to create your own postcard, color in a Yosemite-inspired design, or write a note to yourself or someone you love. Participants can place their finished postcard in our community mailbox and Balanced Rock will stamp and mail it for you—or you can take it home as a keepsake from the weekend.

Balanced Rock will also be offering a free community yoga class on Sunday morning at Yellow Pine Campground, inviting participants to begin the day grounded in movement, breath, and connection to the natural world.
