Breathwork, Artwork & Movement Workshop
Saturday, November 7 in the Yoga Studio* • 2:00pm - 4:45pm
Experience how moving across the landscape influences our breathing and how breath and movement help us respond creatively to our environment. Dennis and Andie will offer breathing, movement, observation, writing, and drawing activities designed to open our hearts, minds, and bodies to the wildness within us and surrounding us. We’ll observe subtle physical sensations of breath and movement and carry that sensitivity into writing and drawing beneath the oaks and pines.
For all yoga and art experience levels. We will meet in the Yoga Studio adjacent to the Yosemite Health Spa (below the June Bug Cafe) before heading outdoors for the remainder of our session.
STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING:
Yoga mat, situpon, towel, or something that you don’t mind sitting on outdoors
Layers to be comfortable outdoors on an autumn afternoon (temperatures vary in the foothills)
Time-keeping device (watch or cell phone)
Pencils, pens, and notebook or journal
Additional art supplies will be provided (feel welcome to bring any of your favorite drawing tools).
ANDIE THRAMS & DENNIS EAGAN
Sierra Nevada–based artist Andie Thrams and longtime yoga teacher and wilderness guide Dennis Eagan bring together creative practice, nature connection, and contemplative movement.
Andie’s watercolor paintings and artist’s books explore the mystery, reverence, and interconnection of wild ecosystems, blending traditions of illuminated manuscripts and natural history field journals.
Dennis, founder of Wild Yoga, has been teaching since 1998 and draws on decades of wilderness guiding and yoga practice to create deeply embodied experiences in nature. Together, they share a passion for honoring the living world through art, reflection, and practice.
